"Fancy Dancer"©, Bronze, 32 x 28 inches The Fancy Dancer, the peacock of the powwows, is an explosion of
color, an exhibition of athletic ability with whirling, turning,
twisting, and tinkling of bells. The male fancy dance is a modern dance
in contrast to traditional Indian dances, and is judged on exuberant
acrobatic movement, spins, and fancy footwork. The colors and dramatic
movement of this sculpture capture the essence of this dance. |
